Configuring Microsoft Outlook for Gmail
Step by Step Procedure
1: Sign in to your Gmail Account.
2: Go to Settings.
3: Select Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
4: Change IMAP status to Enabled.
(You can select the POP in case you don’t want to keep a copy in the Server, if you select IMAP it will save the copy in the server as well as you will receive in your local machine. So it’s always better to select IMAP)
5: Click on Save Changes.
6: Open Microsoft Outlook on your Computer. Click on Next.
7: Select Yes and click on Next.
8: Give your Details like Name, E-mail Address which you want to configure and the password and click on Next.
9: It will check the server configuration and mails will be received in the Outlook,
If any error occurs then follow Step 10.
10: If error occurs like this you will get a mail to your account to follow some instructions.
11: Click on “allowing access to less secure apps” and other page will display.
12: Select Turn on.
13: After selecting Turn On the server will get updated.
14: It will again check for the server configuration.
15: If it is Success you will get a message saying “Your POP3 e-mail account is successfully configured. Click on finish.
16: Now you will receive the mails from the server to your local machine.
